AM I SUPPOSED TO BE MAD ABOUT LEBRON?

If you don't read Jason Whitlock's articles you probably should. He is very controversial in his writing but he always makes strong points. WIth all of the controversy surrounding Lebron and the Vogue cover, Jason takes some time to really evaluate the overt racism involved in the shoot...

Would someone please write a handbook? "What Will and Won't Piss Black Folk Smooth the **** Off" would be an international bestseller.

I'm black, and I'm pissed off most of the time, but I wouldn't leave home without the handbook. Not in these racist-ly confusing times. I can barely keep up with when I'm supposed to be disappointed as opposed to offended as opposed to being pissed smooth the **** off.

Right now I need to know where this LeBron James-Gisele Bundchen-Vogue-cover controversy falls. And just who am I supposed to be mad at, LeBron, the photographer, the editors at Vogue or Tom Brady?

Mekka Don,
What's up man? I actually remember reading this article. Really, I think I read almost all of Whitlock's articles since they typically are always posted on the cover of msn.com -- a site that I visit daily. And in usual fashion, Whitlock comes out blasting another black person or even the black community in general. I agree with Whitlock, white people aren't society's only problem but to make this point Whitlock goes to the other extreme and implies that black people are society's only problem and, of course, this is my problem with him. Essentially, while he does highlight important problems within the black community his articles serves as a basis for freeing white people of any accountability. I am gonna write on people like Whitlock on my blog in the coming days. Their voice, along with their message, is a large source of frustration for me given the audience that it reaches -- mainly white and black middle to upper class people and not the poverty stricken urban ghetto folks that they usually trash.
