T.I EXPECTED TO PLEAD GUILTY TODAY

TI is expected to plead guilty today to federal weapons charges. He has reportedly reached a plea agreement under which he will contribute 1500 hours of community service followed by a 12 month jail term. Based on the facts of this case God and good grace were definitely in his favor. He was looking at 12 to 15 years and with the type of evidence and his prior criminal record things were looking very bleak for him indeed. I hope he takes this opportunity to reflect on his past decisions and current lifestyle, as well as the image he portrays in his music. Music should have been the tool he used to escape the life of drugs and guns, instead he used it as a means to buy himself more, leading to this extremely difficult situation. I do believe TI is an extremely talented artist and from a consumer's perspective I am glad that he will continue to make music... This is an opportunity for hip hop as a whole to look at the music they are presenting and ask themselves if they are really doing the right thing and if this is the product and image we want to sell.
