Nas is definitely one of the greatest MCs, and what makes him so important is he has been able to maintain relevance without compromising himself. He's made the music he's wanted to make and has had success. Critics will say that the controversy around his album title was a ploy to seek media attention. Even if true, isn't it much better to bring attention to a issue worth debate? I guess the smarter move is to draw controversy by providing useless tabloid fodder? Check out the interview in Complex.
