LEGAL HUSTLER SPOTLIGHT: DAMEN "LYNX" WATSON

When it comes to "legal" hustling while still balancing life and enjoying everyday to the fullest, very few do it better than the homie Damen "Lynx" Watson. Juggling a demanding career as a specialist on the New York Stock Exchange, a passion for entrepreneurship with his startup liquor company Tyku, while still finding time to kick it and enjoy the fruits of his labor is not easy but he does it. Lynx offers up some advice for other young "legal" hustlers looking to live the life of a baller without necessarily being a ball player. So without further ado here is his spotlight.

WHAT IS YOUR NAME?
Damen "Lynx" Watson

WHERE WERE YOU BORN/RAISED?
Norfolk\Virginia Beach, VA

WHAT COLLEGE(S) DID YOU ATTEND?
The U...University of Miami, Fla

WHAT IS YOUR PRIMARY OCCUPATION?

Specialist on the trading floor
of the New York Stock Exchange

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A YOUNG PERSON WHO WANTS TO PURSUE THE SAME CAREER?
Stay focused, especially in these trying economic times. The work force period is a hard place to advance or even enter. The economic work force is even more difficult. Do not ever sell yourself short, not only do you need a strong educational background in economics, you also need to have the confidence that you are the best person for the job. Being passionate about the job goes a lot further than any piece of paper would for the most part....

WHAT OTHER BUSINESS INTERESTS DO YOU HAVE?

I'm also a part owner of a sake based liquor called Tyku. As sad as it may sound, no matter what goes on with the economy, alcohol distribution stays consistent or rises. My role with the Tyku Brand started as a small side job, which transformed to something larger once it seemed my current role as a Specialist on the trading floor was becoming extinct. Once the "Recession" began to take place, my role on the floor became a much bigger one. So big that I had to place the liquor business on simmer. Thank God I have a great staff that keeps Tyku running smoothly.

WHAT ARE YOUR FINANCIAL/CAREER GOALS? I hope to one day become an adviser to the United States (working on meeting with some of Barack' s people now) and\or running a billion dollar hedge fund.

NAME TWO PEOPLE WHO YOU ADMIRE OR WHO HAVE INFLUENCED YOU AND WHY.
My biggest influence has been and always will be my mother. My mother endured raising two black men alone in an extremely racist society, to never let us see her cry or stress during those trying times is amazing and warrants admiration.I cant help to jump on the bandwagon, but who in this world can't help but admire president-elect Barack Obama? Seeing what was placed in front of him to win, then to know what he is to face hopefully during two terms.. I doubt he'll ever break, that's borderline amazing to me.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
Playing basketball is a great stress reliever.Of course hanging with the Legal Hustlers. I salute anyone on their grind and not falling to the pressure of fast money.

USE THIS SPACE TO GIVE SHOUT OUTS OR PROMOTE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO!
Definitely!! Be on the look out for Tyku in the upcoming months and years... Shout outs to the family everyone knows who they are, Mekka Don keep making those hits (if you haven't heard Dear Obama, you're bugging!!!). My giants Fam can we say repeat? I'm here this year
homies!!!!! I must say D. Ward great season lil bro, you had a lot of doubters and you are silencing them week by week. I'm proud of you lil bro.... One last word with the changing of the guard in the white house, all ethnicities are under a microscope. I urge you to use this opportunity to thrive, not to sit complacently and wait for what you believe is owed to you. Lets show everyone what we've learned to stop sitting in the background. We waited for this day and it finally arrived. Most importantly lets show we've always been capable, if not MORE capable. Now that this day has come its all in perspective..
