MTVU FRESHMAN MEKKA DON FEATURED ON BOSSIP and 24Wired.tv

When we got word that Bossip and 24wired.tv were interested in interviewing Mekka Don, we were a little weary at first, despite the obvious potential visibility it provided. Knowing the reputation the site had for tabloid journalism, we were wondering if they were just looking to make fun of Mekka's story of going from corporate law to becoming a rapper. However, as we got more information about the interview, the people to be conducting the interview, and the platform it would provide the weariness quickly turned to enthusiasm. Woke up this morning to find out that we were chosen for their "Fresh Fridays" segment and that the interview had created a nice buzz on twitter, facebook, and on their sites. Of course the internet gangsters came out to a degree to hate, but we also gained a lot of new supporters. Shout out to both 24wired.tv and Bossip.com for the opportunity,and a thank you for the exposure it's created. MEKKA DON'S TRIP TO NIGERIA

I had such a blast in Nigeria with my family this past year. I had my first major performance in Nigeria, shopped and negotiated at the markets, went to parties, relaxed and ate well! This video was my best attempt to memorialize the trip. Some parts are not well lit but you'll get the point...ENJOY! #PilotBoys

NFL Draft Weekend

NFL Draft week was a whirlwind with a number of exclusive NFL Draft Events. I was fortunate enough to attend events for Esquire Magazine, ESPN, Beyond the Burroughs/Hope Africa Foundations, as well as a finale post-draft event at 40/40. I met so many new people including Justin Blackmon (#5 overall pick), Michael Smith of ESPN, Ray Rice of the Ravens, and even Wale.  I also was able to catch up with some old faces including legend Eddie George, Will Allen of the Steelers, James Ihedigbo of the Patriots, Darrelle Revis of the Jets, and many others. 2012 has been great so far!

What a great weekend at Ohio State. So many events and meetings helped renew my pride in the University at its great prospects! From meeting with President Gee to speaking with Archie Griffin and Diana Sabau to having a field pass at Urban Meyer's debut spring game, we definitely stayed busy! Also, my sister Dr. Nwando Olayiwola was named one of the "Top 100 Buckeyes to Know" - a major accomplishment! Big things in the works with Mekka Don and OSU collaborations!
